I think it’s safe to say we’ve reached the dog days of summer. I work part time as a summer camp counselor for elementary school kids. Oddly, these children remind me of the minions from Despicable Me. They can be so sweet, dense, and hilarious. Part of my job is monitoring recess. Unfortunately one of my classes this summer meets right after recess. I typically have to leave during the middle of recess to cross half of campus in order to get to class on time.
Today, I started showing signs of heat exhaustion before I left for class. Thirst, sweating, and headache. Lord knows I had must have looked like a hot mess. I chugged a bottle of water within thirty minutes, which is quite fast for me.
On top of the crazy heat, I caught a cold from all the dreary rain we had last week. I feel like I just can’t catch a break with this weather. At least Dwight Schrute can put a smile on my face with his fun facts!
