In honor of Father’s day being this past Sunday, I thought I would post this lovely picture from my first father-daughter dance. Each year, the Girls Scouts would have these dances with different themes each year. I’m not entirely sure what this theme was but I remember the two after were Wild West and Hippie.
My poor dad was a brave man. I might have been enrolled in dance lessons, but you don’t typically have a partner. After repeatedly stepping on his feet and getting my own feet stepped on, he decided it would just easier if I stood on his feet. You know, I am really lucky to have such amazing parents in my life.
One of my favorite things about this particular dance was the dress. I loved, well still love, the color purple. It is my birthstone after all. My mom had one of the other dance moms make this dress for me from scratch! I still have it hanging up in my closet at home. Hopefully, I will have a daughter one day that can use it at her own father-daughter dance. 🙂
